Why are companies getting the bailout?

how this effects the economy/regular people?

    For future investments this helps.
    For future investments when the securities failed it left them get out of the market if investors see that they were promised huge payoffs from thier investments when the bailout is lot of tough spot it may come off as bed thing for.
